John Boy Blue

Dear John Boy Blue,

Your Brothers and I sure miss seeing you
here at the old home place. When I raised you,
as with all your Brothers, it made me so proud.
Some of them do come by on a monthly
basis. They are a big help to me.
I have many different degrees of chores.
There is always something that needs fixing,
like the checkered floors need some attention.
And your Brothers, SS and JS, do work hard
to prepare nourishing meals for us all.

It is a shame that you and many of your Brothers
are so tied up with other activities, that you
don’t make it home to see us more often.
Your Brothers, WM, SW and JW are raising sons of new
generation. But with today’s economical problems,  
some of them are having trouble getting
back to visit.

As your Mother, I am asking you to try to come home
more often. Your Brothers and I will be grateful
to see you. We have a lot going on here.
Son, if you could get involved again here at the house,
it would be a blessing for all of us. For all my sons
are like a fraternity to me. There are so many good
things that we can do when we are all together.

Your Brothers, those that went, had a good time
at the reunion down at the family lodge in Waco
last December. They said that your Grandparents
had a lot of good things to share with your cousins
and brothers, those that were there. You should try
to make the trip with your Brothers next year.
Your Grandparents will be traveling about
the state throughout this year. You could visit them
when they come to your area.
They would dearly love to see you!

I do sincerely hope that you will visit
your ol' Mama more often.
