1930-1931 Brethren, tonight we honor our 10th Master of Highland Park Lodge# 1150,
Past Master, John Shelmire Troth.
Brother Troth, was a native of Zachary, La. He was employed by Lyon Gray Lumber Company until his retirement in 1940. He was a 50 year citizen of Dallas, Texas. He was wedded to Mildred Douglas on Oct. 09, 1915 and they presided at 3710 Knight St. There is no record of the couple ever having children.Brother John was a 32 degree Scottish Rite Mason. Also for many years, he was a member of the Board of Stewards of the Oak Lawn Methodist Church. S.H. Troth, John’s brother was a member of Highland Park Lodge also and S.H passed away at an early age of 54, in 1943. Brother Troth, had 4 brothers and 6 sisters, most of them lived in Louisiana. On December 03, 1960, at the age of 76, Brother Troth suffered a fatal heart attack, after an automobile collision on the previous Friday about 19 miles East of Opelousas, LA. John’s wife, Mildred preceded him in death several years earlier. At the time of John’s death, he resided at 2811 Community Drive. 2 blocks West of Webb Chapel and North of North West Hwy in Dallas.Brother John S.
