 Lynn Boyd Milam 1921-1922 On August 19, 2008, the Brethren of Highland Park Lodge honored: Past Master Lynn Boyd Milam A Charter Member and the First Worshipful Master of Highland Park Lodge # 1150 through the years of; 1921-1922. Brother Milam was also a PM Master of Trinity Valley Lodge #1048 before he became the first Worshipful Master of this lodge. Brother Milam was a 33° Mason and he was a Grand Orator for the Grand Lodge of Texas. Brother Milam was born in Miller, South Dakota in 1885 to D.B. and Olive Milam. He and his family moved to Dallas when he was at the age of 15 years old. He attended Old Bryan Street High School. Brother Milam went on to the University of Texas and graduated from its Law School in 1906. He was a member of the Alumni Chapter of the Kappa Alpha Fraternity. As a young Lawyer, he joined; Thomas, Milam and Touchstone Law firm in Dallas. He was an assistant counsel in the organizing of SMU College in the early days of 1911 - 1913 I do not have any of his marital information but he and his wife had three children, two daughters and a son. They lived at 4931 Junius street in East Dallas. He retired in 1938 due to blindness. He was the great, great nephew to the Texas famous, Benjamin Rush Milam. Benjamin Milam helped rallied the Texas soldiers with his famous quote, “Who will follow Old Ben Milam into San Antonio”, 300 Texan did, and Mexico surrendered. After a fruitful life, Lynn Boyd Milam passed away at the age of 69 years old at his home on Jan. 26, 1954. Brothers, tonight we want to let PM Lynn Boyd Milam live again through our hearts! We Honor you Brother Milam. May the Great Architect of the Universe shine upon your soul eternally. After the meeting, Brother Milam’s picture in the gold frame was hung in the entry hall to the Lodge room until the next stated meeting, which at that time, we will honor the next Past Master of Highland Park Lodge.
