How To Join![]() Boyd Brown 1923-1924 On October 21, 2008, the Brethren of Highland Park Lodge honored: Past Master Boyd Brown Brother Boyd Brown was extremely active in Masonry throughout his lifetime. 1921, PM Brown, 32 degree Mason, was the first Junior Warden of the Newly Chartered Highland Park Lodge #1150. He was one of the Trustees of the HP Masonic Building Association. Also the same year he was on the membership committee of the Masonic Reunion's Dormitory Fund. 1923: Bro. Brown was a Class Director at the Scottish Rite Reunion and continued to be for the next several years. 1924 he was the Grand Senior Steward of the Grand Lodge of Texas. That same year, Boyd attended Past Grand Master for 1898 -1899, John L. Terrell's funeral in Terrell Texas. He was one of 50 delegates from Dallas present at the Fort Worth Masonic Citizenship meeting. Between 1924 - 1928, Brown was bestowed the highest honor in Scottish Rite, a 33 degree I.G.H. 1928: Boyd became " Venerable Master" of the Dallas Lodge of Perfection. 1929: He was one of five initiated by the St. Mark Conclave #13 Order of the Red Cross of Constantine. In addition, that year, Boyd was a sponser of the Dixie Class Foot Ball Game for the Cripple Children's Hospital. In addition, he was Assistant Chairman of the Steering Committee on Planning for the Supreme Council. 1931: Brown, a Methodist, was a member of the Board of Stewards for the Oak Lawn Methodist Church in Dallas. 1933: Boyd played center on the executive football fundraiser for the Community Chest. Also that year he was a pallbearer for W.H. Miller 33degree I.G.H., who was a Past Commander of the Dallas Commandery, Knights Templer, Miller was also a member of HP Lodge.
Bro. Brown and his wife raised one daughter at their home located at 3801 Mockingbird Lane in Highland Park. Sometime in 1940, Brother Boyd Brown passed away after a long illness. Brother Brown, we honor your rich history in Masonry and for being our Third Past Master. God bless you Past Master, Brown and may you continue to rest in eternal peace.
